Duct Repair

Statewide HVAC repairs residential ductwork across the Sacramento region when a specific section has failed but the rest of the system is still sound. Disconnected trunks, torn flex duct, failed boots, and crushed sections are repair work. We tell you honestly when the right answer is repair and when the system has reached the end of its useful life and needs replacement instead.

Duct Repair questions, answered

How do I know I have a duct problem versus an HVAC problem?

The telltale pattern is: one room is noticeably hotter or colder than the rest, airflow at a register is weak or absent, or utility bills jumped without a weather change. Those point at ductwork. A whole-house loss of comfort usually points at the equipment, not the ducts. A visit sorts it out.

When is duct repair the wrong answer?

When the flex duct insulation has disintegrated with age, when rodents have torn multiple runs, when the design was undersized for the current HVAC equipment, or when sealing a few joints would leave the rest of the system failing silently. In those cases replacement is the honest answer.

Will repairing one bad duct run fix the room that doesn't cool?

If that run is the problem, yes. But a room with weak airflow can also mean the trunk feeding that branch is undersized, the register is restricted, or the system is unbalanced. We diagnose which cause you have before we commit to a fix.

What's the difference between duct repair and duct sealing?

Repair fixes physical damage — tears, disconnections, crushed sections. Sealing closes air leaks at joints that are structurally sound but leaky. A home can need one, the other, or both; they're separate services with separate scopes.
