Ductless Mini-Splits

Ductless mini-splits deliver heating and cooling to individual rooms without ductwork — one outdoor unit driving one or more quiet indoor heads. Statewide HVAC installs and services mini-split systems across the greater Sacramento region, from single-room additions to whole-home multi-zone systems.

Where mini-splits shine

  • Room additions, converted garages, and ADUs
  • Older homes without existing ductwork
  • Bonus rooms and offices that never cool or heat right
  • Zoned comfort — condition the rooms you use, not the whole house
  • Multi-zone systems serving several rooms from one outdoor unit
  • Repair and maintenance of existing mini-split systems

Ductless Mini-Splits questions, answered

Do mini-splits heat as well as cool?

Yes — a mini-split is a heat pump. The same system cools in summer and heats efficiently in winter, which suits the Sacramento region's climate of hot summers and mild winters particularly well.

Are mini-splits efficient?

Generally very. There are no duct losses because there are no ducts, and each zone conditions only the space it serves. Inverter-driven compressors also modulate instead of switching hard on and off.

How many indoor units do I need?

One per zone you want to control independently. A single addition usually needs one head; a whole-home system might use several heads on one or two outdoor units. The right layout depends on the floor plan and how you use the rooms — that's part of the design visit.

Are they loud?

Indoor heads are among the quietest HVAC equipment made — typically quieter than a refrigerator. The compressor sits outside, like a conventional AC but generally smaller and quieter.
