Heating Repair

Statewide HVAC diagnoses and repairs residential heating systems across Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Nevada, and Yolo counties — gas furnaces, heat pumps in heating mode, and dual-fuel systems. Every furnace call includes a combustion-safety check because the heating side of a home is a safety system, not just a comfort appliance. We're a CSLB-licensed California contractor (License #1023360).

Heating Repair questions, answered

My furnace won't turn on — what should I check first?

Confirm the thermostat is set to heat and the setpoint is above room temperature; verify the furnace power switch (looks like a light switch) at or near the furnace is on; and check that the gas valve to the furnace is open. If all three check out and the furnace still won't start, that's a call for a technician.

What's the difference between heating repair and furnace repair?

Furnace repair is specific to combustion-based gas furnaces. Heating repair is the broader category — it covers heat pumps running in heating mode, dual-fuel systems that switch between a heat pump and furnace, and electric resistance heating. We land under whichever heading matches the equipment in your home.

What safety checks happen on a heating call?

On any gas-fired heating equipment visit we verify the heat exchanger is intact (no cracks or corrosion), the flue drafts properly, carbon-monoxide concentrations around the appliance are at safe levels, and the safety switches (limit, rollout, pressure) are functional. These checks are part of the call — not an upcharge.

Can you work on heat pumps as well as furnaces?

Yes. Heat-pump heating faults are a different diagnostic category than furnace faults — reversing-valve logic, defrost cycles, and auxiliary-heat control — but we service all three heating equipment types (furnace, heat pump, dual-fuel) in Sacramento-region homes.
