AC Maintenance

Statewide HVAC performs scheduled maintenance on residential air conditioning systems — the proactive work that keeps a cooling system reliable through the long Sacramento-region cooling season instead of waiting for it to fail in the middle of July. We're a CSLB-licensed California contractor (License #1023360) serving Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Nevada, and Yolo counties.

What AC maintenance covers

  • Refrigerant charge verification against manufacturer specifications
  • Capacitor, contactor, and electrical connection inspection
  • Blower motor, bearing, and fan-blade check
  • Evaporator and condenser coil inspection and cleaning as needed
  • Condensate drain-line clearing and float-switch test
  • Thermostat calibration and system-cycle verification

AC Maintenance questions, answered

Why does an AC need annual maintenance?

An air conditioner is a mechanical and electrical system with wearing parts — capacitors degrade, electrical contacts pit, coils foul with dust, drain lines clog. Maintenance catches those drifts early so a small worn part doesn't take out the compressor months later. It also keeps the system running at its design efficiency instead of drifting downward each summer.

When is the best time of year for AC maintenance?

Spring, before the valley hits triple-digit stretches and the system is being asked to run eight hours a day. A system that's been serviced before the cooling season starts has a much lower chance of failing during the hottest weeks when demand is highest.

Will maintenance lower my utility bills?

A system running at design efficiency uses less electricity than one with low refrigerant, a fouled coil, or a weak capacitor making the compressor work harder. Maintenance doesn't invent savings, but it protects the efficiency you already paid for when the equipment was installed.

What if the technician finds a problem during maintenance?

You get a clear description of what we found, what it affects, and what the options are. We don't bundle repairs into the maintenance visit without walking you through them first — maintenance and repair are separate decisions.
